Club Sessions
Through the winter months, the club trains at Maltby Leisure Centre where we run regular club sessions for one to one coaching for beginners to advanced, slalom and polo training. These are usually held on Saturday afternoons.
In summer, we move outside to our lake in Finningley, Doncaster. We offer sessions here at two times on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Various river sessions are also held on weekday evenings and weekends.
In addition, we travel to various rivers across the UK for training and competitions.
General Weekly Schedule
Tuesday – Lake training, Doncaster – Arrive between 14:00 and 18:00, 19:30 finish.
Thursday – Lake training, Doncaster – Arrive between 14:00 and 18:00, 19:30 finish.
Friday – River (variable locations & timings for season/light) – 15:00 / 18:00.
Saturday – Pool training (Winter) – Maltby Leisure Centre – 16:30 to 18:30.
River trip (Summer) various locations. 10-30 – 16:00.
Sunday – White Water Paddling / River Running / Freestyle (Various locations) 10:30 – 16:00.
These are subject to change, dependant upon river levels and numbers for safety, please always check that a session is still running. Let us know if you are coming to a session as updates are communicated nearer the time in our relevant WhatsApp groups. (If there are insufficient numbers, sessions may be cancelled).
Sessions are always run by a qualified instructor and helped by experienced club members.
Paddlers can gain awards from British Canoeing, including Paddle Start, Paddle Discover and Paddle Explore. Green Star also encourages paddlers wishing to take personal performance awards and qualifications in first aid and lifeguarding.
We always welcome newcomers and can usually lend all the equipment needed to get you started, we also have a quantity of second hand kit for sale. So, if you want to try canoeing for the first time, or maybe get back into it, we’ll offer friendly advice and assistance. Contact us to find out more!

All prices are per club member, per session.
Ad-hoc launch fees at venues may apply, please ask about these if you are unsure.
